Add interface

Add interfaces to the interface library that can be transferred to SAP® Solution Manager during SAP® synchronization.

You can add interfaces in different ways:

  1. Navigate to the function allocation diagram (FAD) that is stored in the Interface library database group of the related branch.

  2. Open the model for editing either from the published content or from the repository.

  3. On the Model tab, click Enable SAP modeling support Enable SAP ® modeling support.

  4. Click the SAP function to which you want to connect the interface. The Insert smart object Insert icons are displayed.

  5. Insert an object of the Class type. The Create interface dialog opens.

  6. Specify the name of the Class object that will represent the new interface.

  7. Select the type of the interface. Choose whether to create an interface or a composite interface and select the source component (Attribute value specified in the Sending component attribute type.), the target component Attribute value specified in the Receiving component attribute type.), and the technology (Interface technology used for interfaces of the Interface type. This value is specified for the Interface technology attribute type. The Interface technology attribute is mandatory for interfaces of the Interface type.).

  8. Click OK.

The interface is created and is available for modeling.

This SAP function, together with the assignment structure, will be included when you start the SAP® synchronization in ARIS Architect and transfer new structural elements.

  2. Open the model for editing either from the published content or from the repository.

  3. On the Model tab, click Enable SAP modeling support Enable SAP ® modeling support.

  4. Click the SAP function to which you want to connect the interface.

  5. Click Properties Details > Properties and move to SAP Solutions > SAP interfaces.

  6. Click Add Add and enter the name or Browse for existing object navigate to an existing object. The Create interface dialog opens.

  7. Specify the name of the Class object that will represent the new interface.

  8. Select the type of the interface. Choose whether to create an interface or a composite interface and select the source component (Attribute value specified in the Sending component attribute type.), the target component Attribute value specified in the Receiving component attribute type.), and the technology (Interface technology used for interfaces of the Interface type. This value is specified for the Interface technology attribute type. The Interface technology attribute is mandatory for interfaces of the Interface type.).

  9. Click OK.

The interface is created and is available for modeling.
