Version master model
Enhanced variant management is based on model versioning, allowing changes made to the models during the various roll-out cycles of the master model can be automatically identified. Therefore, first create a version of a master model before creating variants.
Prerequisite
The database used is a versionable database.
You have the Version access privilege.
Click
Application launcher >
Models and objects.
Navigate to the database group containing the models you want to version. When you select the group, its contents are displayed in the details view.
Move the mouse pointer over the row of the relevant model and click
More >
Versioning.To version multiple models in one step, enable the check boxes of the relevant models and click
Versioning above the details view. The Enter description dialog opens.Enter a change description, to inform users about the changes.
To include descriptive assignments such as a model of type Function allocation diagram (FAD), enable Include descriptive assignments.
Under Refined assignment, select how refined assignments should be considered:
No refinement: Refined assignments are not included.
Include complete hierarchy: All refined assignments are included.
Include refinement levels: Enter the level up to which the refinement assignments are to be included.
Click OK. The models are saved as versions and a change list including the description is created.
The variant owners can start creating model variants.
